Did a shoot downtown yesterday in a penthose loft. The stylist Danny Flynn has collected a bunch of fabulous vintage Vivien Westwood corsets and such. It just had to be shot. So we did. Had a fun time just creating a cool look and of course I went crazy with my iPhone.

Worked today for a magazine called Bon. No $ but very creative editorial. The stylist was fantastic! So creative. Liz Botes.The photography is a team. They call themselves Mizo. Combo of both their names. Love their work. And of course Riku who does amazing makeup. We had worked with this model for his makeup book who has a very cool look. It was a bit of bondage with latex super tight! "bring the lube and sponge!" says Liz to her assistant several times. Love it. And then she throws in lace and feathers. And vintage wooden hoop skirt. Not sure what you call it, but it is suppose to go under the dress from the 1700's? Anyways managed to snap a pic with the iPhone while shooting.

The Beautiful Life promo's

I just recently worked on a bunch of promo's for CWTV. I did four new shows, Vampire Diaries, The Beautiful Life, Melrose Place, and Life Unexpected. I also did Beverly Hills 90210 for the second year. Although it is VERY busy doing all these people in two days, it is extremely fun to do. Not one actor was difficult! In fact they were such a pleasure to work with! For people who know me, they know i am not a bullshitter so i really do mean it. I also had a fantastic team behind me which is so important! It takes a lot of stress off me. Here are a few shots of me working behind the scenes.

I worked with the fabulous makeup artist Valli O'reilly Who I met through Brian Adams. Oscar winner for makeup in the movie biz. I think she may get another one for the Timothy Burton movie coming out called Alice in wonderland. Anyways it was the first shoot where we could really go for it. And we did. Great model and the photographer was David Jakel. He did a really great job and very excited to see the finals. These are some behind the scenes pictures I took with my iPhone and a great app called shakeit. Fun!

I work with the great Doug. 12 page story with famous peoples beautiful daughters. We shot in a great location! Old dock warehouses. All modern editoral feel and they looked amazing. The pictures were so beautiful. He really nailed it!

Took this shot of the model while we were waiting for something... The final picture the photographer took was much better.. but here is a sneak. Her hair was such a bright red.. She had just worked with Mathew Rolston and i think they had colored her hair that color for the shoot. Anyways i am very excited to get the images once they release it. i must have gotten at least 3 to 4 shots for my book.. which is amazing for one day! I have gotten so fussy in my old age.

Worked with Kristy Hume for a British editorial. She has the most amazing hair! It was the second time i had worked with her. We had worked before on Gap. She brought her daughter who is a little mini Kristy. I don't like kids but that one got to me.. So cute!

I did a job out in the desert a few weeks ago so this is old news but I will post anyways. All the elements were against us so I was exhausted when we finished. It was like 100 degrees out and I do not do well in extreme heat so I was in survival mode. Hat,screen,and gallons of water..any little shade, I was in. Being a melonoma surviver,one has to be very careful. Of course with that comes gale force winds,and toss in sand, and you have a sand storm to boot. All really great for the hair.thank god the hairstyle I ended doing which was pinned back,worked for every outfit,so I managed to curve a nightmare! Add that they always wanted to climb up a 90 degree angle on a sand dune to a better rock above.... Well, you get the picture. This picture shows the photographer waiting for the sand storm to settle inbetween shots.

I also hung out with a lizard in the shade for awhile.

Drunkin Chicken

I have wanted to try the beer up the butt chicken.. so i did it this weekend on the grill. Thank god i came to check up on it when i did.. the chicken was on fire! I had to throw water on it. As you can see from the pictures, there are two sides to her. She may look awful but she was tender and juicy and delicious. God it is a good thing i am not vegetarian. That is so gross.

Little Oscar got very sick 2 days after I left to Brasil. Perfect
timing! Sally took him to emergency and they took 7 stones out of his
bladder! 2 big ones. He also had about 375 ml of pee in his bladder as
he could not pee! Poor thing must have been in pain. $1800
later...shit...he is fine. Thank god!

JVC video for Motley Crue Festival

This is a video i did the hair for JVC. The video was to be played on a huge screen for Cru Fest.. Motley Crue is doing what Ozzy did years ago. The makeup artist and i were so exhausted after this day as we had to do hair and makeup a thousand times over as the girls got soaking wet.. take after take after take....oh my!

China Town New Years Festival

Went to the Chinese New Year parade in China Town this year.. A couple of my friends who want to start shooting came along as well. This picture was taken by one of them as i am trying to get away from a smoke bomb that some a hole rolled at me. The day was very hot and was very tired near the end of it. In fact left to go have dim sum before it was over.. even though the light was best.. Lost my money and id in the metro..crap.. so my friend had to pay. Took the Los Angeles Metro for the first time and was very impressed with how nice it was. There was a lot of people using it and i felt like i was in another city. I want to take my camera and shoot and stop at different stops to shoot. Day pass. Just bought a new camera i am waiting for. Canon 40d. During the parade i missed having a second camera so i could switch from telephoto to wide angle in a pinch. I will gain reach as well with the crop sensor and also it shoots faster for more sports stuff. Will need a new camera bag as my equipment has grown. Now it is finding the right one. Photo gallery to come once i finish processing.

Galapagos

This is a short video i took in the Galapagos at Darwin's Rock 60 feet down. I would have liked to have gotten the numerous whale shark sightings but i found that i breathed up air quicker for some reason with a video in hand and needed all the air to chase them! This trip was amazing! I was surrounded by hundreds of sharks. Hammerheads mostly,but there were Silkys, Galapagos, and White Tips.also Turtles,Bat Rays, Seals,Dolphins,.. all in one dive!

Moved in and living in boxes

First off a Merry Christmas to you all. I have not posted anything in a while as i have been non stop working or working on the house. I am still living in boxes and will spend the holidays unpacking and moving into my big gift to me... my Moonhouse. I am down to a few details and then will put on hold the other stuff for a breather. I was warned.. but it looks fantastic and very pleased with the results. I will post the new reno pics at a later date when i am unpacked and have the time. Perhaps over the holidays? Anyways stay tuned. HO HO HO

My New Moon House

Well my dream has come true. It is official. I now own my first home. I call it the Moon House. It is more then i ever dreamed. If someone told me i would become a Valley girl and own a home with a pool,white picket fence and circular driveway... i would have laughed and thought you were crazy! It is a dream come true. I get the keys Oct 24th and will start to do a few things to the place. Painting, a few repairs and new sewage line outside.. that is about it. I was very lucky to get it as well. The owner is super nice!! I gave him asking price and he had offers over asking price but chose me !! The is so rare and i am very grateful.. and to hell with the others i say... My realitor found out that the block has asked the city to include us in Sherman Oaks.. If that happens.. i will have gained about 150 g's i am told!! I will keep you posted. I got my citizenship! i did the swearing.. along with 4500 people at the Los Angeles Convention Center. There was another 4500 coming in after us!! It took about 2 hours and was emotional for me. I am so happy. They had the post office there to apply for passports! I just got it yesterday and it is sooo pretty. Pictures on every page. This completes my one goal for this year. Then unexpectedly i got a call from my Realtor to see some places. I had cooled off as i had bid twice and someone came in last minute and bid over asking and ruined my party.. nothing came close to how nice they were.. so i was not all that gung ho. We saw 7 and the second to last was fantastic! The price was fair so i put a bid in. He of course got the last minutes including a developer, and he chose me!!! So now i am in escrow and going through the roller coaster.. too much to talk about here.. sooo lets hope the next post says i got it! This would be my second and last goal i had for this year!

Big Day Today!

I had a very big and happy day today! I went in for my interview to get citizenship and got it! Now i have to wait for the paper within the next 10 days , to go to the inauguration ceremony which i understand is one of the huge 3 stadiums in the County. It was astounding to see how many office booths there were for the interviewing. We went into the 59th one! Took 20 minutes max. I will say as well that i was the only white person in the waiting room. I live in Los Angeles so there were a majority of Mexicans there and some Asians....then little whitey! Anyways, i am very grateful and happy!
